Special Thanks to Trinity Presbyterian Church and other individuals for raising over $5,000 for the Ruby Green Trust Fund.  Miss Ruby is a special person to Habitat.  She has been adopted from a living situation with no running water, dirt floors and no electricity.  Habitat pays her utility bills so that she can continue to live and thrive in McKinney where she grew up.  If you are interested in helping Miss Ruby's fund, please send donations to:

Wall Raising for the Sawyer Family

The walls were raised for the home of Tracy Sawyer and her two sons.  This home will be built over the next three months.  More than 3,000 volunteers hours will be put into this home.  This home is made possible by the generous donations from the Smiles for Habitat concert, Dr. Jennifer Buchanan, Simpson Strong-Tie and Olive Garden.

General Description:

Under the supervision of the executive director the Director of Development (DD) plans, develops, and directs development activities to raise funds for the agency. While there may be additional personnel resources available to the DD, this role is largely an independent effort. The DD will be required to coordinate their efforts and achieve their goals with other affiliate staff, volunteers, and Board members mainly through influence and dialogue.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The DD must have a minimum of five years experience raising funds for non-profits or similar experience. They must have extensive experience in face to face gift requests and excellent computer, organizational, writing, and public speaking skills. Additional knowledge and skills include extensive knowledge of local philanthropic and business community and the ability to work under pressure on multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to the department’s budget.
